Summer

I saw you first through the glass door of a street cafe;

Your bright floral dress was hard to overlook.

The cafe was very crowded,

Even that didn’t concern you, you were so drenched in your work at the cafe

You thoroughly so allocated in your reading

That spark you had in your eyes  while reading which made me difficult to look somewhere else

I was told,

You carry coldness wherever you are, wherever you go,

And I was about to believe,

And I truly believed so,

I waited for you to see me through the window,

Then when you looked outside,

Into my eyes,

And Suddenly it felt like a Summer has finally arrived.

  1. Summer has in fact finally arrived and I don’t like it. However I loved your poem. ☺️

    Great poem. Actually, i’m not so used to free verse poetry, but I must say that your poem is very romantic in nature brushing off some defiant sensual moments. It’s a good piece of poetry. Would like to hear from you again soon.
