My Review of the book
The novel portrays about two friends Amir and Hassan who are living in Afghanistan. As a boy. Amir is always jealous and betrays his best friend, the hassar boy Hassan. But during a kite running tournament, beset by bullies an event occurs that changes Amir and Hassan’s life.
The war starts in Afghanistan which leads Amir and Baba to flee from Afghanistan and take shelter in California, where Amir becomes a successful writer. But when Amir realizes that baba’s old friend (his mentor) need his help, he returns to discover that his relationship with Hassan was deeper than he realized.
It is a beautiful, powerful and tender story, definitely not easy to digest. The story that left me breathless with raw real emotions and characters, making me curious on every page I read to what happens next. I loved the simplicity of the narration and the characters. I was really able to connect with the story through the eyes of the main author. Though it is filled with emotions, the author has thoughtfully addressed some story scenes with his flair for writing and sentiments. What inspired me most in this book, the friendship that existed between them. Despite a certain different race, their friendship stands tall and untouched.
I just know I will read more from this author and quite impressed that this is the first book he has written.
